31/1/2012- RMG – The Project for Europe is three years old. Looking at young people and at the Salesians
(ANS – Rome) – On 31 January 2009, on the occasion of the Feast of Don Bosco, the Rector Major, Fr Pascual Chávez, launched the “Project for Europe”. The ANS Salesian Information Agency is offering a series of special publications devoted to the analysis of the youth situation in European countries, presenting some of the things Salesians are doing to respond to the needs of youth in the Old Continent.
31/1/2012- Spain – PE: News ways of preparing young people for the work place
(ANS – Madrid) – This January the second in the series of Tutoring Programmes of the Pinardi Social Federation promoted by the Salesians in Spain is completed. The programme is a special form of work experience preparation for young people following the tutoring technique of the Pinardi Federation, in collaboration with the “Grupo BLC”.

18/1/2012- RMG – Project for Europe: an enquiry concerning the migration situation
(ANS – Rome) – Recently an enquiry has been launched which will throw light on the migration situation in Europe with special reference to Salesian centres and their pastoral activities. The results of the enquiry which is being carried out in the context of the Project for Europe, will be examined late in the year at the next meeting of the Provincials of Europe planned for 29 November to 1° December 2012.
2/1/2012- Spain – Formation of young Salesians: Europe and the re-organisation of the Provinces
(ANS – Granada) – Between 26 and 29 December, in the context of the Project for Europe and the process of the re-organisation and the re-vitalisation of the Salesian presences in Spain, a second meeting was held in the novitiate in Granada for the Salesians in initial formation from the 6 Spanish Provinces.
2/12/2011- Italy – European Seminar of Provincial Delegates for Missionary Animation
(ANS – Turin) – The Provincial Delegates for Missionary Animation (DIAM) in Europe met together in Turin at Valdocco the Mother House of the Salesian Congregation, between 28 November and 1 December to share their experiences and projects. It was the first meeting of the DIAM in Europe for 14 years.
28/11/2011- RMG – Meeting of Salesian missionaries in Europe
(ANS – Rome) – Last weekend 25 to 27 November there was a first meeting for Salesian missionaries in Europe, led by he General Councillors for the Missions and for Formation, Fr Václav Klement and Fr Francesco Cereda.
12/10/2011- RMG – Project for Europe also with immigrants
(ANS – Rome) – Among the various items in the Project for Europe there is also work with immigrants. To provide a positive response to this need, a working party made up af various representatives from several Salesian European Provinces met at the Generalate on 8 October and considered a possible way ahead with some specific proposals on behalf of immigrants.
11/10/2011- Belgium – Celebration of the 120th anniversary of the house in Liege
(ANS – Liege) – Saturday 8 October for the Salesian house in Liege, Belgium was a day of rejoicing for the celebration of the 120th anniversary of its foundation. In December 1891, the first Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians reached this industrial city on the banks of the Mosa to open an orphanage and training work-shops for workers’ children, in response to a request from Bishop Doutreloux, bishop of the “burning city”, the city of the Eucharist.
21/9/2011- RMG – The mission at the heart of Europe
(ANS – Rome) – Yesterday missionaries from the religious orders left Europe to go to evangelise the New World. Nowadays when Europe seems to have lost its cultural and spiritual identity, things have changed, and from the other continents missionaries are arriving to witness to Christ in the Old Continent. This will be the missionary experience of Fr Pedro Ayala.
