23/2/2016- Germany – The Missionaries of Project Europe: a source of renewal
(ANS - Munich) - At the Third Meeting of the Missionaries in Europe recently held in Munich in Bavaria, there were five missionary priests ordained this year (4 for the Province of France-Southern Belgium and one for Northern Belgium). They had been sent as missionaries to Europe after their post-novitiate and had done their training and theological studies in their new Provinces.
18/2/2016- Germany – Third Meeting of Missionaries in Europe
(ANS - Munich) – The third Meeting of Missionaries in Europe took place from 13 to 17 February. It was organized by the department for the Missions and held at the "Salesianum" in Munich in Bavaria. At this bi-annual meeting there were 51 participants, including missionaries, speakers and some provincials. Also present were Fr Guillermo Basañes, Councillor General for the Missions, with the team from his department, and Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, Councillor for Central and Northern Europe. The theme of the gathering was "To revitalize the Salesian charism in Europe."
1/12/2014- RMG – Meeting of the Provincials of Europe
(ANS - Rome) - A Meeting of the Provincials of Europe took place from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 November. It was organized around three main axes: the development of Project Europe from 2009 to 2014; the family in Europe; and planning for Project Europe for the years 2015-2020.
28/11/2014- RMG – "Today, my first job is to take care of Latin American migrants in Genoa"
(ANS - Rome) - From today, 28 November until Sunday 30 November a Meeting of the Provincials of Europe is being held at the Salesian Generalate in Rome. As we did yesterday, today ANS carries the testimony of a Salesian missionary, Fr Daniel Coronel, aged 38 from Peru. He says: “one of the main tasks of the first Salesian missionaries was the care of Italian migrants in America. Today, my primary task is to take care of Latin American migrants in Genoa”.
27/11/2014- RMG – "The Joys and Challenges of a Missionary in Belgium"
(ANS - Rome) - From Friday 28 to Sunday 30 November a meeting of the Provincials of Europe will take place at the Salesian Generalate in Rome. The theme will be "interculturalism" in different sectors: Ministry, Missions, Education and Social Communication. In view of this meeting, ANS wants to offer the testimony of Antonio Berek, a thirty year-old Indonesian Salesian missionary in Belgium. Among other things he says: “I have discovered that in this secularised, materialist and rationalist society friendship is what opens the way to the initial proclamation of Christ”.
17/1/2014- Belgium – Visit of Fr Klement to the missionaries of Project Europe
(ANS - Brussels) - Last weekend, on 11-12 January, Fr Václav Klement, Councillor for the Salesian Missions, made his third visit to the Province of Northern Belgium and the Netherlands (BEN) the last leg of his journey of animation to the Salesian Provinces participating in Project Europe.
4/11/2013- Italy – Second meeting of missionaries in Europe
(ANS – Turin) – The second meeting of missionaries in Europe took place at Valdocco from October 31 – November 3, 2013.44 missionaries from Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Lithuania and Bulgaria were present, together with some Salesians who have been accompanying them in their respective countries (Ireland, Great Britain, Belgium, France, Austria and Bulgaria).
12/6/2013- Italy – Integrating immigrants: the experience of the “Latinos en Don Bosco”
(ANS – Genoa) – For about eight years now, in the area of Sampierdarena in Genoa, the local Salesian community and a small group of Latin American immigrants have been running a well planned pastoral project for the spiritual care and social integration of the big number of Latin American immigrants present in the area. The project is called “Latinos en Don Bosco”.
28/5/2013- Italy – Project Europe: Novices’ Meeting
(ANS – Pinerolo) – The annual get-together of the novices from the Salesian novitiates in Europe took place on 22 and 23 May. This year the venue was, once again, the Monte Oliveto International Novitiate at Pinerolo. The Rector Major wanted this meeting to be seen in the context of Project Europe, to help the novices and their formation personnel to develop a European mentality, and also to allow for a visit, right at the beginning of their formation, to the Salesian places associated with Mary Help of Christians and Don Bosco.
13/5/2013- Belgium – Education and Evangelization are a Sharing in the Work of God
ANS - Brussels) – Yesterday, 12 May, the Rector Major concluded his visit to the St John Berchmans Province of Northern Belgium and Holland. In his visits to the various houses and in meetings with Salesians, with educators and lay people, Don Chávez re-emphasized the importance of quality education and evangelization as the best service we can offer young people.
