Portugal – E-vangelising with the power of the Spirit |
Portugal – Tenth Salesian Formation Course |
Prof. Maximino Gomes and the other 26 taking part divided into work groups reflected on “what the teachers of Moral Education and the Catholic Religion and the School chaplains can do to make a more concerted contribution to the processes of evangelisation and education, and how these can be re-thought.”
The current situation in the schools was considered and then a proposal was made “to create an “observatory” on the educative-religious role of the Salesian school so that it will be able, on the one hand to provide accompaniment and of the other create the dynamics needed and make practical proposals for each Salesian school” understood as a house which welcomes, ,a parish which evangelises, a school which prepares for life and a place where friends can meet.
One of those taking part said “it was an important idea, a time to reflect and to become more aware of the role of the teachers of EMRC and School Chaplains in Salesian schools. We be need to work together, to have clear and shared aims and to be creative and innovative.”
