(ANS - Genzano di Roma) – On a very special day, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians met in the morning with the novices of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians from Castel Gandolfo at Via Appia, and in the afternoon visited the Salesian novitiate at Genzano. It was a wonderful experience for the young FMA and SDB to receive Christmas greetings and a word of encouragement from the Rector Major.

"It is always a beautiful occasion” said the Rector Major “to meet the new vocations that the Lord sends the Salesian Family." In fact, there is a new vitality in seeing so many young people who have decided to follow Jesus in the style of Mother Mazzarello.
In late afternoon Fr Á.F. Artime went to Genzano, to greet the Salesian Confreres from the Generalate who were there for a day of prayer and reflection and to meet the 17 novices who are being trained in Genzano. After a souvenir photo and a greeting to each one of the novices, the Rector Major celebrated Holy Mass, during which he urged his listeners to live this Christmas season thinking about the poorest in our society.
The Rector Major invited the novices to continue to address the great challenges of life. And the first challenge is "to be religious men and women who live the call of God to serve the young today in a radical way."
