(ANS - Guatemala City) - CRESCO 2015 - the course of the Regional Centre for the Specific Training of the Salesian Brother - began in January. Fifteen young Salesian Brothers from five South American countries began the course to deepen their understanding of the figure of the lay Salesian.
CRESCO is a suitable space for personal and community reflection of the one Salesian religious vocation. It offers a good preparation for perpetual profession and is an important stage in their human and religious growth in Salesian spirituality.
The group of young Salesians, eleven in the first year and four in the second, shows a revival of the Salesian Brother vocation in some areas of the American continent, especially in this year that marks the bicentenary of Don Bosco.
The community consists of five Argentines (3-ARS, 2-ARN), five Brazilians (3-BCG, BMA-1, 1-BRE), three Colombians (COM), two Paraguayans (PAR), a Bolivian (BOL), a Mexican (MEM) and a Salvadoran (CAM).
The formation of this group of young brothers is marked by a rich programme of fraternal sharing, pastoral practice and the study of Theology in the Course of Religious Studies. The programme should be of great help in understanding the lay consecrated life in the modern world.
However, the main objective of this phase of specific training for Salesian Brothers is to provide the right environment to give the brothers a deep intercultural experience of the church and the Salesian community.
