Vatican – The Pope tells the FMA Chapter Members: Welcome young people with joy |
RMG – Elections of the General Council of the FMA |
RMG – New Provincials for Spain |
(ANS - Rome) – As part of the process of reorganization that many congregations are going through, Mother Yvonne Reungoat, Superior General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians has announced the establishment of a single province in Spain from 2017. The following statement was released:
Almost three years ago, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Spain and Portugal began a process of discernment in order to promote and ensure the charismatic viability of our presence in Spain. In this they were motivated by the lines of action given by the 22nd General Chapter, "The greatest of all is love",
This process led to the drawing up of the Joint Project ‘Rejoice’. One of its options was to create what we call a New Province, the result of the amalgamation of the current four provinces of Barcelona, León, Madrid and Seville.
We communicate with joy that Sr. Yvonne Reungoat, our Mother General, with the consent of her Council, has approved the date of erection of this new province, scheduled for 5 August 2017.
As FMA we express our desire to continue to rely on all those who share the mission with us, so that together we may widen our horizons as "missionaries of hope and joy" (cf. CG XXIII) in this exciting journey of building a future in communion. We seek God's will for and with young people, faithful to the charism which he gave to Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello, for the Church and for the world.
We trust in your prayers and in your co-responsibility, which always accompany us, and in the help of Mary, our Mother and Teacher.
