(ANS – Rosario) – The  “Blessed Artemides Zatti” Province of North Argentina celebrated the Provincial Feast-day at Rosario. The event took place on Sunday 13 November, the liturgical memorial of the Blessed, model of the Salesian Brother, who used all his talents on behalf of his neighbour. Present at the celebration through the Rectors or other Salesians were all the houses in the Province.

The Feast-day began with Mass, at which Fr Manuel Cayo the Provincial, presided and Salesians from many houses concelebrated. In addition to the students from the houses of formation, many other young people were present, teachers and representatives of the various groups  of the Salesian Family. In his homily Fr Cayo spoke about Blessed Artemides Zatti, model of the consecrated layman, expending all his talents for those in need. The Provincial also thanked all the  Salesians who this year are celebrating their anniversary of ordination or profession for their service to the Province, and he concluded speaking about the experience of the special course on the history of Don Bosco “I Becchi” at which over a hundred young people from the centres in Rosario had taken part.

At a social gathering in the Main Hall of the “San José” Institute, the Salesians who were celebrating their anniversaries received, in recognition of their service, a statuette of Don Bosco, as the special contribution of each one was mentioned.

Afterwards Fr Ricardo Campoli gave a short (40 minutes) preview of the 2 hour show “Don Bosco, the Musical”. In the scenes to which he referred there clearly emerged “a great saint, who focused on the faith and on joy, a great man who taught that love is poetry.” With these words from the script, Fr Campoli pointed out that that saint and that man “is each Salesian who today is celebrating an anniversary and for whom we thank God for having given him to us.”

The musical was very well received and applauded by all those present who clearly were very pleased and appreciative with what the young people and the Salesians working together had achieved in putting on the show.

In conclusion, the Provincial praised all the work being done in the Province, the joy expressed throughout the day, the quality of the stage performance and the lives of the Salesians who had celebrated an anniversary and the presence of the young people.
