Spain – Presentation to senior staff from Salesian Schools |
Spain – III Congress on the Salesian School in Europe and Vocational Training Centre |
This first course has two parts: one residential, with lectures and face to face sessions and a second personal one, making use of the means of technology.
The 47 participants, coming from almost all the Provinces in Spain of the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, began the course in the second week of March at the Salesian house in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, where the first modules consisted in “the role of direction and human resources” and “educational direction”. Presenting the themes respectively were Javier Aguirregabiria and Irune López. Those taking part were also able to discuss the issues among themselves and recognise the common background to their different experiences.
The course now continues by means of the web thanks to an agreement between the National Commission for Salesian Schools and the International University de la Rioja (UNIR). The agreement enables those taking part to obtain a university diploma at the end of the formation course.
The next residential session will be in May followed by a third in the second week of July. The formation course will end in October with work on a project for school leadership in which those taking part have to put into practice what they have learned.
The Provincial of Spain-Madrid, Fr Luis Onrubia, in the Good Night he gave on Monday 8 March, the first day of the course, declared that this kind of initiative “is preparing for the future” thanks to the ever closer cooperation between lay people and religious.
