Nepal – A new technical complex for the Vocational Training Centre |

There are currently 455 students in the school with one section for each class. Plans are afoot to increase the number of sections. "We shall open more sections once the work of the new school extension work is completed in two years time", assures Fr. Vincent Mondol SDB, the Headmaster and the man behind the efforts in getting the recognition. This would help the Salesians to reach out to more youth in this Himalayan country which is in great need of all round development. The school has been setup and run primarily for the poor children of the locality.
The Salesians set foot in Lubhu in 1997, a poor and undeveloped area about 14 KMs from Kathmandu. The school was begun in 2002 - a Nepali medium from Class 6 and an English medium from Kindergarten level. There is also an annexed hostel, and the Salesians help in the youth ministry of the Apostolic Vicariate. The Salesian Province of Bangalore has a tieup with the Kolkata Province to take care of the apostolate in Nepal by providing personnel.
