France – Conclusion of the Team Visit for Western Europe |

(ANS – Lyons) – Yesterday, 7 August, in the city of Lyons, there began the Team Visit for the Western Europe Region, which consists of the Provinces of Portugal, France and Spain. The principal themes of the meeting, which ends on 11 August, are the new arrangement of the Provinces and Project Europe.
There are eight Provinces represented at the Team Visit which opened yesterday in Lyons: Portugal (POR), Spain-Barcelona (SBA), Spain-Bilbao (SBI), Spain-León (SLE), Spain-Madrid (SMA), Spain-Seville (SSE), Spain-Valencia (SVA), and France with South Belgium (FRB), which includes a house in Soral (Switzerland) and one in Kenitra (Morocco). Taking part in the meeting are the Rector Major, Don Pascual Chávez, the General Councillors for Youth Ministry and Formation, Don Fabio Attard and Don Francesco Cereda, the General Councillor for the Missions, Don Václav Klement, the Economer General, Br Jean Peal Müller, and the Regional Councillor for Western Europe, Don José Miguel Nuñez Moreno.
During the Visit there will also be an evaluation of the process of communicating, assimilating and enacting the 26th General Chapter, and the highlighting of plans for the future of the Provinces and of the region. Particular attention will be paid to the development of Project Europe, guidelines for new evangelisation in a secular context, fidelity and religious discipline, and the new arrangement of the Provinces in the Region.
According to data obtained on 31 December 2010 there are 1502 Salesians in the Western Europe Region: POR 102, FRB 237, SBA 162, SBI 173, SLE 203, SMA 272, SSE 209, SVA 144.
