Cambodia – Fr Ángel Fernández Artime in Don Bosco Phnom Penh

(ANS – Phnom Penh) – Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, arrived on Sunday, 28 February, at Phnom Penh International Airport for his first visit to the country. With him were his secretary Fr Horacio Lopez and Fr Vaclav Klement. Councillor for the East Asia–Oceania Region.

(ANS – Mumbai) – The major commissions of the Salesians in India like “Don Bosco Action India”, the national network for social development; “Don Bosco Tech”,that focuses on skilling India; “Forum of Young at Risk” and others met at the Don Bosco Provincial House in Mumbai on February 26, for their fifth annual meeting.

(ANS - Namugongo) – The Don Bosco Children and Life Mission in Namugongo is one of four Salesian communities in Uganda. It was founded to accommodate and rehabilitate street children and other vulnerable groups of young people and to help them to find their place in society.

(ANS - Rome) - "Don Rua was the most faithful, therefore the most humble and at the same time the most valiant son of Don Bosco." This is what Pope Paul VI wrote about Don Rua, who was the first Novice Master, even if for only one year. But it is worth noting, as Fr Motto has pointed out, that "Giulio Barberis was chosen as the first Salesian Novice Master, because in him Don Bosco had discovered a very delicate searcher and educator of souls."

(ANS - Barinas) - In the 32 years of existence of the Salesian Agricultural School of San José on the outskirts of the city of Barinas, this is not the first time that groups of people, who claim to be cooperatives or associations with different names have tried to occupy their land, but so far all these attempts have been resolved in a positive way.

Gičres, France - February 2016 - On 4 February, the students of Don Bosco School of Gičres, accompanied by Leonardo, a child suffering from myopathy, gave the leaders of the AFM Telethon, a cheque the result of fundraising for research. Over 600 pupils of the Don Bosco School in Gičres took part in the fundraising and awareness campaign on myopathy, raising more than 12,500 euro. The meeting was led by the International Volunteers for Development (VIS).

Built in 1830, the bridge gives access to the main cathedral of Vunapope. It was unusable for some time, before being restored by the Nivani Company.
