Syria – Salesians of Aleppo: join us for an hour of Eucharistic adoration

(ANS - Aleppo) - In Aleppo, the city that symbolizes the war in Syria, clashes and bombings continue. The young people who attend the oratory request Salesians and all the Christians who are spared the horror of war to spend an hour in Eucharistic adoration on Monday evening, praying for peace in Syria. This is the message from Fr Georges Fattal, Rector of the Salesian house.

(ANS - Vatican City) - On 23 February 2016, in the Ordinary Session of Cardinals and Bishops members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints a positive opinion was given, with all affirmative votes, on the reputation of holiness and the practice of heroic virtues of the Servant of God Bishop Stefano Ferrando, Salesian Bishop of Shillong, India, and founder of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians.

(ANS – Rome) – The missionary fire lighted by Don Bosco in the Oratory, continues today in Salesian houses when great ideals to be realised in their lives are offered to the young people; when the opportunity to direct their generosity to the fascinating projects of solidarity and mission are offered to the young people. This is the soul of the volunteer service.

(ANS - Warsaw) - About 80 young people came together with one goal: to serve youth in the spirit of Don Bosco. The representatives of all the Salesian works and communities of the Warsaw Province are meeting in what could be called the first "Provincial Chapter of the young". Young people, from oratories, groups of altar servers, schools and pastoral groups, came together to learn to accompany young people on the path to holiness they have learned from Don Bosco.

Gabriel Escobar Ayala, SDB, Apostolic Vicar. The Congregation of the Divine Word joined the Vicariate. They will collaborate with the parish of Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús, Bahía Negra, Alto Paraguay. Medellin, Colombia - February 2016 - On 22 and 23 February the commission for Formation in Communication of the Salesian Family met at the Provincial House of Medellin (COM). The participants included Salesians, FMA, Daughters of the Sacred Heart and committed lay people in charge of education and communication in their respective provinces. Various issues were addressed including a reflection on assertive communication, revision of a document that will be shared with the communities, and the agenda for the fourth ESA Congress (Medellín 2017). He entrusted twelve novices to the Rector and Novice Master Fr Cássio Rodrigo (BSP), who will guide them through the year. The formation team took part as did Fr Adalberto Alves De Jesus, Vice-Provincial of Campo Grande (BCG).
