Montenegro – A Holy Door in a Church entrusted to the Salesians

(ANS - Podgorica) - The parish church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Podgorica is the only Catholic parish in the Montenegrin capital. In 1966 it was entrusted to the Salesians of Slovenia. On Sunday 21 February the Church was completely filled with the faithful for the opening of the Holy Door.

(ANS - Munich) - At the Third Meeting of the Missionaries in Europe recently held in Munich in Bavaria, there were five missionary priests ordained this year (4 for the Province of France-Southern Belgium and one for Northern Belgium). They had been sent as missionaries to Europe after their post-novitiate and had done their training and theological studies in their new Provinces.

(ANS – Phnom Penh) – Joseph Sinnott, a Salesian High School student and Eagle Scout, completed a project to collect and repair bicycles for Salesian students in Cambodia. At the end of 2015, 39 bicycles were distributed to students supported by the Don Bosco Children Fund, a Salesian-run organization that assists poor youth between the ages of six and fifteen who are either unable to go to school or have had to drop out due to poverty.

Mexico City, Mexico - February 2016 - The nineteenth Meeting of CIMAC-MESOAMERICA-USA took place from 16 to 18 February. It was led by Fr Miguel Ángel García, who is responsible for Salesian schools at world level. The meeting was attended by 22 leaders from this sector, representing 14 countries, 15 Provinces and 2 Vice-Provinces. They included Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and Daughters of the Divine Saviour. Among the main topics of the meeting were the shared mission between religious and laity, and technological mediation for the creation of learning and community development.
