Lo Cañas, Chile – 21 March 2011 – On 21 March a representative group of the Band of the Salesian School in Alameda played some pieces of traditional Chilean music at supper to entertain those attending the Team Visit to the America Soth Cone Region. The eight musicians conducted by the musical director Rodrigo Ahumada performed items by the singer-song writer Víctor Jara and the Inti Illimani group . The Rector Major Fr Pascual Chávez encouraged the youngsters in their playing not only to pay attention to their technique but also to the way they express their feeelings. In thanking him, Rodrigo Ahumada said how proud he was to be a member of the family of Don Bosco.
