Tura, India - January 2015 - The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Hon. Mukul M. Sangma, conferred the "Award for a lifetime of special service” on the Salesian missionary Fr Baptist Busolin who has worked for more than 65 years for the people of Garo Hills, Megahalaya, Province of Guwahati. Fr Busolin was born in Padua, Italy, on 16 January 1922. He arrived in Garo Hills in 1950. With his charisma and his commitment he inspired and founded several schools, technical schools and dispensaries in Rengjeng, Garobadha, Bagmara and in many villages of Garo Hills. He taught more than 20,000 students and brought hope to the lives of millions of people.
