Cuenca, Ecuador – May 2013 – On 18 and 19 May, 260 children and young people from different provinces of Ecuador took part in the Second National Gathering of Altar Servers. The theme of the meeting was “Holiness consists in being always cheerful.” The purpose of the meeting was to get to know the meaning of serving at the altar in the Salesian way, through a study of the life of Dominic Savio. There were various activities in the course of the two days: film shows followed by discussion, group work, workshops and theatre, and reflections on various topics. The Servers renewed their promise during the Mass at which Fr Marcelo Farfán, Provincial of Ecuador, presided.

Macas, Ecuador - February 2016 - A meeting of the National Council of the Salesian Youth Movement was held from 26 to 28 February. The aim of the meeting was to review and continue planning for 2016 and plan for the next National SYM Congress which will take place in August.
