San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina – On 12 August 2012 – during Sunday Mass, Archbishop Alfredo Zecca, Tucumán, consecrated the new church dedicated to St John Bosco in San Miguel de Tucumán. Amongst those present were the Provincial, Argentina North, Fr Manuel Cayo, his Vice-provincial, Fr Carlos Bosio, Fr Miguel Mestre, parish priest, other Salesians, past parish priests and many of the faithful. The community was greatly satisfied with the event, since they had waited 60 years for it! The building actually began back in 1948, but the discovery of subterranean water blocked work for four decades, and until a few years ago Mass was held in the theatre. Between 1990 and 2000, all the area surrounding the church was completed. |
