Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo – 10 July 2010 - On 10 July at the end of the annual retreat given by Fr Francis Gatterre, from the Vice Province of French-speaking West Africa (AFO), five Salesians from the Province of Central Africa (AFC), Matthias Kambale, Willy Bukasa, Jean-Claude Kazadi, Didier Katumbwe and François Tshinemu made their perpetual profession in the Society of Saint Francis of Sales. Fr Joachim Tshibangu, Provincial of AFC presided at the Mass. During his homily he invited the professed to openness and missionary generosity, as expressed in the pastoral programme of the Province for the coming year during which there will be the celebration of the centenary of the presence of the Salesians in Congo.
