Beitgemal, Israel - 26 December 2009 – The Salesians of the communities in the Holy Land (Bethlehem, Cremisan, Beitgemal, Jerusalem and Nazareth) spent a fraternal thanksgiving day together in Beitgemal which was introduced by the Provincial of the Middle East, Fr Maurizio Spreafico. Archbishop Antonio Franco, Nuncio Apostolic in Israel and Cyprus and Apostolic Delegate for Jerusalemm and Palestine, presided at Mass and thanked the Salesians for their work, mentioning in particular Fr Jacques Amateis, Fr Gianni Caputa and Fr Roberto Spataro. At the end, the Rector of Beitgemal, Fr Antonio Scudu, spoke about the history and the special significance of this holy place which preserves the remains of the protomartyr Saint Stephen and of the Venerable Salesian Brother Simone Srugi.
