Macerata, Italy - January 2015 - On 18 January, World Day of Migrants and Refugees, the Salesian Community of Macerata hosted a party for migrants. The participants came from Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Peru, Brazil, Albania, India, and many from Italy. After a discussion on the theme "Humanity without Frontiers", a letter was written to the Mayor and the Bishop on the problems of migrants. The Muslim migrants distanced themselves completely from recent attacks and massacres. Lunch followed with dishes typical of the various nations, then a folklore festival and, finally, Mass presided over by Bishop Nazzareno Marconi, the local bishop.
