Akure, Nigeria – 9 January 2014 – The Salesian Community of Akure, where Fr Italo Spgnolo is Rector, is resuming activities in the technical school. The mechanical welding section has been extended due to the multiple demands of the market, and 20 new welders were purchased for 50 students. In addition, by combining the savings of the school and parish with donations of several benefactors, they were able to buy an electric generator which is necessary because of the precarious power supply.

Macas, Ecuador - February 2016 - A meeting of the National Council of the Salesian Youth Movement was held from 26 to 28 February. The aim of the meeting was to review and continue planning for 2016 and plan for the next National SYM Congress which will take place in August.
