Conformità W3C
The primary aim of this site is to create an effective tool to maximise accessibility for users, regardless of technical or other obstacles.
For this reason all the pages have been formulated according to a formal syntax, following the standard xhtml transitional 1.0 (cf.
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/),
which allows free access to information unencumbered by either tools or technology chosen.
While there is no law obliging such an approach (
Stanca law - 9 January 2004), much emphasis has been given to checking accessibility requirements, to permit access to users regardless of disability, at least with regard to A and AA priorities outlined in the WAI 1.0 guidelines (cf.
http://www.aib.it/aib/cwai/WAI-trad.htm).
The following aspects in particular have been taken into account:
- Provision of alternative content for any type of multimedia (graphics, video, audio, animation);
- Allowing for "graceful transformation" of pages where there is tabular informatiion involved.
The layout of each page has been developed by laying out the code in functional blocks (include) to increase readability and to allow for re-usability.
The "skeletal structure" of pages has been achieved only with HTML <div> elements.
Each page has been carefully validated, but to ensure constant evolution and better service, you are asked to notify us, through
contacts, where unforeseen error or inaccuracy occurs.
With regard to the formal syntax indicated above the site’s graphics have been achived completely through CSS (cf.
http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/):
this technique permits a notable reduction in "weight" (in terms of Kb) of web pages, by completely separating structure and presentation (graphic) elements of the site.
In particular, to facilitate printing and browser use as well as less powerful connectivity/bandwidth, alternative stylesheets have been created for print and "testo only" purposes.
It could happen that older browsers which predate current standards do not correctly present graphic layout which developers have arrived at today, but navigation and availability of the information is guaranteed. Full benefit from the interace and components involved will only be gained, however by using a recent generation browser which respects the well-defined W3C standards, which supprots Javascript and has Cookies made active.
The basic code structure has been validated with the help of tools available through W3C.
In particular:
The contents are managed through CMS: sometimes, therefore, there could be code inaccuracies where elements have not been foreseen by developers.
