(ANS - Logroño) - On 4 November the Salesian Institute Los Boscos of Logroño was awarded the 2013 Prize for Telecommunications. The award is organized by the Association of Telecommunication Engineers of La Rioja (Aiter).
The award, now in its sixth year, is intended to recognize the work of organizations and professionals in the field of communication. The various nominations were reviewed by a jury that decided on three categories of awards: Engineer of the Year 2013, awarded to Pedro Revuelta; Enterprise of the year 2013 awarded to the Osaba group; and Innovative Training Project, 2013, which honored the pioneering experience of dual vocational and bilingual training in computer systems done at the Salesian Institute Los Boscos in collaboration with the Department of Education of La Rioja and FER-AERTIC, and with the support of the International University of La Rioja.
The awards were presented at a press conference on 4 November by the Councillor for Public Administration, Dr Concepción Arruga; the Director-General of Technologies of Information and Communication, Dr José Lorenzo; and the President of AIERT, Dr Carlos Prieto.
On behalf of the International University of La Rioja, Mr Luis Alegre presented the Innovative Training Project, 2013 award. It was accepted by Mr. Abel Bayo for the Government of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja; Mr. José Luis Pancorbo representing FER- AERTIC; and on behalf of the Salesians, Fr Martín Guzmán, Director of the Salesian School.
