(ANS – Lisbon) – Since last Thursday, 18 April, the new site of Edições Salesianas in Portugal is back online. With a new and more attractive appearance, it is meant to facilitate and simplify access to the items on offer. There is a clear preference for the use of images, and the items are organized according to category and subject matter, making the site much easier to use.
The lists of productions, in the section called Loja (online shop), are enriched with added material (Video, Image Gallery) which provides the customer with a better knowledge of the article before proceeding to purchase. In the same section, the customer can choose how to view the items – in alphabetical order, by code or by price. More recent items are displayed in each category on a bar at the bottom of the page.
To encourage interaction with the customer, the new site invites a comment or review of each item. Customers who participate are rewarded with points which can then be converted into euro for the purchase of online products.
The contents are the great selling-point of this new version of the Edições Salesianas site. There has been a progressive enrichment of the sections on News, Resources and Reviews. Pastoral workers can find information and helpful materials. A Forum has been planned where catechists and animators can find answers to their questions, or share views and methods.
The research bar is always available on each section of the site, and so also the help section, which guides the customer to complete a form to contact the administrators in any kind of necessity.
The restructuring of the site is part of the communications strategy of the Edições Salesianas intended to strengthen its presence on the digital platform. As part of this strategy, at the end of March the Portuguese Publisher changed its logo for the first time in its history. This change will give a more up-to-date image of the company, and will also reinforce the image of the Salesians in Portugal-
