(ANS – Madrid) – In the context of the three year period of preparation for the Bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco, called for and launched last year by the Rector Major Fr Pascual Chávez Villanueva, the Salesians in Spain have opened a site which offers a series of suggestions and resources about the saint of youth. A radio-account of Don Bosco, his writings, resources for pastoral work, musicals, videos, photos... these are some of the material available.
The site - www.conoceadonbosco.com – is intended to be a thematic portale on Don Bosco as part of the preparation of the Spanish Salesians for the Bicentenary (2015). It is also possible to follow on the site the progress of the pilgrimage of Don Bosco’s casket which in a few months time will be in the Spanish Provinces. Seen as a Spanish-language point of reference for the saint of youth, it is already receiving contributions from users wishing to submit their own material about the life, mission, spirituality and celebrations of Don Bosco.
There is also a multimedia section where it is possible to listen to 24 episodes of a radio-programme about Don Bosco, or download images, designs, videos and music file on his life. Then the Celebration section contains material for mass, triduums, prayers and ideas for Good mornings to be used for the Feast of Don Bosco.
In the Life section is material on the biography of Don Bosco, historical studies and some of Don Bosco’s writings, a guide to the places where he lived and grew up, games and suggestions for group meetings which might help in knowing his life story.
Conoceadonbosco.com can also bee reached on Twitter (canale @conoceadonbosco) where it is possible to share ideas, feelings, proposals, initiatives, and links to other web sites containing material on the Salesian mission and spirituality, that is, the way in which nowadays the Salesian Family puts into practice the mission of Don Bosco on behalf of the young.
