(ANS – San Paolo) – Between 12 and 16 September at San Paolo, Brazil, there was a course-workshop for formation personnel in the Salesian Region of America South Cono 46 Salesians took part dealing with the question of the affective life and chastity.
Convinced that this is a key element for the full experience of Salesian Religious life, the Salesian formation personnel from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay took part in the study of the topic which had ben chosen in consideration of the suggestions made last year by the Rector Major in his letter on fidelity and religious discipline (AGC 408), and the Guidelines of the General Councillor for Formation.
The speakers Dr Yolanda Alderete, from Paraguay and Fr Ronaldo Zacharias, from the Brazil-San Paolo Province started from the experience of the integration of sexuality and the affective life of those taking part which led them to consider a process which would be valid in the accompaniment of Salesians in formation.
On Friday 16 Dr Ana Cristina Canosa, from Brazil, helped those taking part to develop a formation procedure to accompany those in formation in their personal process of all-round maturity.
The Salesian formation personnel said Mass together at the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida, one of the largest in the world, and entrusted to the Virgin Mary the lives of their students in formation.
