(ANS - Mendoza) - The Salesian Youth Movement, Mendoza, commenced its first Salesianity formation gathering on Friday, August 19, called 'Becchi. It was attended by more than 30 leaders. Involvement in Salesianity formation is one of the Province's concerns and the 'Becchi' course is a response to that. It looks at Don Bosco's story, the beginnings of the Oratory, the founding of the Salesian Congregation and offers pedagogical and psychological formation.
The formation course, held at Santiago el Mayor, Mendoza, will involve monthly meetings from August through until November. The various stages planned by the Province will occur over this period and provide one response to the need to create leadership training opportunities and offer all possible means for leaders involved in youth work.
In the first meeting the speaker, Pablo Mazzitelli, a teacher at the Mendoza school, offered an introduction to Don Bosco's life, his childhood, the difficult moments, and his interest in continuing to work with young people, which culminated with the successful experience of the Oratory. The dream when he was just nine, and his dedication to the poor led him to found the Salesian Congregation to ensure that his work for young people would continue.
Today it is up to us to continue this dream so that the “work of the oratories” can continue to grow in every home, movement and SYM group. “These meetings help us to get to know Don Bosco and be faithful to the charism we have inherited, which is essential today”, Mr Mazzitelli said.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 7 where Leandro Sabatini will address the question of child psychology.
