The 11 participants spent three whole days with a view to gaining the necessary competence for compiling news, photographic technology and use of the net. Nine of them were from various Salesian centres in the country – ‘Ricaldone Technical Institute’, “Poligono Don Bosco”, “Polideportivo Don Bosco” and “Ciudad de los Niños”. Two others tagged on to the group.
The ‘Ricaldone’ centre, thanks to its first class technical resources and its welcoming environment, guaranteed a successful meeting. The venture has been seen as a most important initiative for the area of Social Communications, since it provides professional training for lay people working in education alongside Salesians, handling publications and guiding media activities.
Noteworthy at the workshop was the high level of receptivity among the participants, the quality of achievement in carrying out allotted tasks, the group work and the presentation of future projects resulting from the work done. All who took part came across as both talented and loyal to the Salesian charism.
This event can now be added to the list of the 3 already held at Santa Tecla (El Salvador), Cartago (Costa Rica) and Quetzaltenango (Guatemala). A fifth workshop, this time for pre-novices, is planned for the coming 1st to 3rd June.
