Spain – Salesian Communication Day: Marketing education, social networks and educational innovation |
Brazil – Publication of Manuals on Communication |
The SNS brought together those responsible for the area of communications in the various schools in the North East, Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians to consider the implementation of the Plan for Educommunication within the curriculum.
On the first day Fr Raimundo Nonato Feitosa dos Santos and two students from a dance group in the nearby school provided an artistic opening to the event, showing the guests the cultural treasures of Bahia. This was followed in the “Don Bosco” centre by the opening session led by Sr Maria Tabosa, Jakeline Lira and Alberto Adler.
During the meeting there was an active involvement of those present and the exchange of experiences; in this way the Recife section– represented by an administrative officer Valéria Rodrigues –produced together with representatives of the schools, a series of proposals and ideas regarding communication, adapting them to the Salesian philosophy.
Sr Tabosa then gave a report on “Administration of access to the mission”, while Jakeline Lira spoke about “the Internet and the Media”. In the evening there was a conducted tour of the city of Salvador.
The topic for the second day Saturday 11 September was “The Convergence of Communications” and the possibilities for their use in the Schools of the Network.
The meeting was very constructive, encouraging the sharing of ideas by the various groups and enabling them to draw up an ideal profile of the educommunicator. Those taking part were also helped by their study of the book “Educommunication: a challenge for the Salesian Family”, recently published and presented by the Network.
