(ANS – Rome) – Little more than a year after the presentation of the Project for Europe, the Department for Social Communication is organising a competition to provide this important initiative on the part of the Salesian Congregation with a logo. Participation is largely reserved to the Salesian Provinces of the Old Continent.

Among the ideas proposed by the Project for Europe Commission to stimulate the  Project itself is that of finding a special logo for this important initiative which in the name of the whole Congregation the Rector Major of the Salesians launched on 31 January 2009. The Department for Social Communication has been given the task.

Every Salesian Province in Europe is being invited to organise something among the Salesians and the young people so that by 15 June  suggestions for a logo expressing the nature and the aims and objectives of the “Project for Europe” can be sent to the ANS Office.

It will be for the Project for Europe Commission itself, meeting in July at Czestokova, to choose a short list of suggestions to then present to the Rector Major and his Council.

With the “Project for Europe” the Salesians are working to revitalise their chrism and their presence on the continent of Europe which is marked more and more by secularism and ethical relativism.
