This was one of the messages Fr Natale Vitali, Councillor for the America South Cone Region gave the Salesians taking part in the 1st Assembly of the “Blessed Artémides Zatti” North  Argentina Province  which will begin its life on 31 January 2010 with the unification of the present Provinces of Rosario (ARO) and Córdoba (ACO). The Assembly, a step further in the creation of the new Province was held on 30 April and 1 May  at the Salesian house of Colonia Vignaud.

The meeting attended by 180 Salesians, was chaired in addition to Fr Vitali, by the two current Superiors Fr Joaquín López (ARO) and Fr Palazzo (ACO).

Mainly the Assembly was an occasion for the confreres from the two Provinces to get to know each other. Highly symbolic was the hug between Fr Basilio Boroski, ninety years of age from the Rosario Province and Alexis Garro, 20 years of age and a young postnovice from Córdoba. It symbolised not only the union of the two Provinces but also communion in mission and in life between the different generations.

Special attention was given to Blessed Artemides Zatti, Patron of the new Province. On Friday morning 1 May, Fr Vitali and the two Provincials planted an “algarrobo” a tree typical of northern Argentina.

The two days ended with Mass at which the Regional Councillor presided.
