Fr Nilson Faria dos Santos is the new Superior of the “St John Bosco” Province of Brazil - Belo Horizonte (BBH) succeeding Fr Ovídio Zancanella. Vice Provincial and Vice Rector of the “St Thomas Aquinas” studentate of theology, Fr Faria took part as Delegate in the GC26.
Fr Orestes Carlinhos Fistarol, also former Vice Provincial, is the new Provincial of the Salesians in Brazil - Porto Alegre (BPA) and succeeds Fr José Valmor Cesar Teixeira. Fr Fistarol, who took part in the GC26 as Provincial Delegate will take over on 25 May.
The appointments announced today were made in the winter session of the General Council.
