(ANS – Turin) – The SYM Don Bosco 2015 event begins! In these hours, 5000 youth coming from 54 nations all over the world are invading Turin. A number that will grow during the weekend when, in Colle Don Bosco, the celebrations for the Bicentenary of St. John Bosco’s birth will come to an end. From Japan to Argentina, passing by Africa and the Middle East, the youth of the Salesian Family are getting ready to celebrate their Saint. Youth coming from crisis regions such as South Sudan, Lebanon, Syria and Israel will also be present.

Under theslogan “Like With For – COME Don Bosco, CON i Giovani e PER i Giovani”, parishes and oratories of the Salesians and FMAs, cooperators, old pupils, associations of the Salesian Family and of Dioceses from all over the world, are gathered in Turin and in Colle Don Bosco to pay homage to the Saint of the Youth and perpetuate the actuality of his message. During the event, the guests will be welcomed and followed by more than 150 volunteers and the feast will be animated by an international choir composed of 200 youth, accompanied by an orchestra of 50 instruments.

“A great event”, emphasizes Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, the tenth successor of Don Bosco, “the most genuine manifestation of how the youth are grateful to God for the gift of Don Bosco as Father and Teacher of the Youth. This is a universal expression of how Don Bosco continues to touch the hearts of all the youth”.

In the original spirit of Don Bosco, promoter of good press and correct information, through a precise divulgation, all will be able to follow the event, even those who cannot directly take part in it. In fact, in many parts of the world there will be similar events, following the live broadcast of the program of Turin. The site, the App for smartphones and all the main social networks are as from now animated with enthusiasm and a spirit of participation, becoming instruments for an exchange of emotions, contacts and new acquaintances, recounting to the world the actuality of a charism which is more alive than ever.

The program will start tomorrow, Tuesday August 11^th, in PalaRuffini, with the greeting of the Authorities: the Rector Major Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Sr. Yvonne Reungoat, Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Councillor Claudio Lubatti who will convey the greetings of the Municipality City Council. The activities in the morning will proceed with the “Proposal of Reflection LIKE Don Bosco”, delivered by the Bishop of Gent, Msgr. Luc Van Looy, and will be concluded with the celebration of the Holy Mass.
