(ANS – Rome) – The events of the conclusion of the Bicentenary of Don Bosco are about to enter their most moving phase, with the appointment of the “Don Bosco SYM 2015” (10th-16th August) and the solemn concluding ceremony of this Jubilee Year of the Salesian Congregation.
The meeting of the Salesian Youth Movement (Movimento Giovanile Salesiano) that will take place in Turin and Colle Don Bosco from August 10th to 16th, 2015, will be an important moment of sharing, prayer and encounter for about 4400 youth coming from 51 different nations and accompanied by 260 Salesians. They are youth coming from Salesian houses scattered in the world who, in the native places of their patron saint, will ask themselves about the modernity of a charism and of an educational system which from Turin has spread all over the world. They will also question themselves on how to continue to keep this charism alive and present through their own commitment and contribution.
The theme of the meeting – “Like Don Bosco, with the young and for the young / Like, With, For” – will offer the participants the opportunity to share, deepen and look to the future of the MGS experience. “The legacy of this Bicentenary must be a renewed boost in the heart of each one of us of that fire which kindled the heart of our Father and Teacher Don Bosco”, commented Fr. Fabio Attard, General Councillor for Salesian Pastoral of the Youth.
On the first three days there will be morning sessions of meditation, followed – on the morning of the fourth day – by the experience of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession); the respective afternoons and evenings of these first four days will be marked by visits to the Salesian places, to the places of the social saints of Turin and to the Shroud. On August 15th, there will be the pilgrimage to Colle Don Bosco, in preparation for the vigil of August 16th – the day of the 200th year of Don Bosco’s birth.
