(ANS - Garissa) - More than 2,500 people marched yesterday 7 April in the streets of Garissa in Kenya, the city where at least 148 students, mostly Christians, were killed last Thursday in a terrorist attack on a university campus. The event was attended by Muslims and Christians, united in solidarity against terrorism.
Another parade, which brought together hundreds of students, was held in Nairobi in memory of the victims of the massacre in the college. In the capital the protesters shouted slogans against the terrorists. They stopped in front of the presidential palace calling for compensation for the families of the students who were massacred They also asked for the construction of a memorial for the victims and they demanded greater security in the University and throughout the country against the terrorist threat.
"We could be next,” said a twenty-two year old student of Moi University. “These people can strike anywhere, and we do not feel safe."
