(ANS – Rome) – February 19th, Don Bosco Network hosted in Rome the second annual advocacy planning meeting of the Salesian Family.

The meeting gathered over 20 representatives of Don Bosco Network organizations (VIS - Italy, SWM - Poland, Via Don Bosco - Belgium, Jovenes y Desarrollo - Spain, Noi per Loro - Italy), representatives of the SDB General Council (Fr Guillermo Basañes and Fr Fabio Attard), Salesian Sisters (S. Maria Louisa Miranda and S. Runita Borja from the FMA Generalate, S. Maria Grazia Caputo and Maria D'Onorio from the Human Rights Office in Geneva, S. Leonor Salazar and Elisabetta Murgia from VIDES International), Patrizia Gonzales from the Salesian Mission Procure in Madrid, Fr Thomas Brennan - SDB representative in the UN as well as the representatives of the Salesian Past Pupils, Salesians Cooperators and Don Bosco Youth-Net.

This is the second meeting of this kind of the different branches and institutions of the Salesian Family that want to focus their efforts in representing the voice of young people on the local and international level and this way to influence the direction of social changes.

Its main purpose was to share experiences and talk about possible synergies. All agreed that there is a strength in this diversity of actions and approaches presented by the whole range of the organizations and institutions that need to be channelled and enforced by proper communication and promoting this attitude of bringing and sharing the gifts of our work for the common benefit.
