(ANS - Madrid) - "Behind every gesture of solidarity there is a superpower, which has the ability to change the world. You just need to use it. We all have a superpower - the power to help." This is the campaign of the Salesian Mission Office in Madrid, launched at the end of January.
The campaign is intended not only to raise funds for various projects funded by the Mission Office, but also to publicize some important data, achieved thanks to several donations or, in the words of this campaign, thanks to the superpower used by many benefactors.
The website of the Mission Office contains several images accompanied by messages of thanks from children and young people who have benefited from the various projects supported by the Mission Office. It shows, for example, that:
• THANKS TO YOUR POWER
We can maintain 2,300 schools worldwide. Education is the engine of development, the tool to overcome poverty and build a better future.
• THANKS TO YOUR POWER
For only €5, the children of Debre Zeit in Ethiopia can receive a glass of milk and bread every day for a month.
• THANKS TO YOUR POWER
Eleven year-old Prince left the streets of Abidjan where he was begging to survive. He had run away from home because he was being maltreated by his father, and now, thanks to the Salesian missionaries, his life has changed. He is living in the Salesian boys’ home, has gone back to school and now hears words of support and affection.
The campaign of the Salesian Mission Office in Madrid concludes with a special exhortation: "poverty, hunger, illiteracy, disease, wars, and a complete lack of values - these are some of the threats that surround us. Millions of children and young people need education, water, health, food and shelter. They need the help of people with a big heart and a special power. We cannot abandon leave them. We have to act without fear. Now is the time to use your superpower, the power to help."
