(ANS - Rome) -Cardinal Agostino Vallini, vicar of Rome, notified yesterday morning on September 2, Bishop Enrico dal Covolo, SDB, about the document in which the Supreme Pontiff had elected and appointed him Rector of the Pontifical University Lateran for a second four-year period, in accordance with art. 10 of the statutes of the same university. "Grateful to the Holy Father. - said the Rector - We will work in the accordance with his teaching. "
The Rector upon receipt of the notification said: "I am grateful to the Holy Father, that he wanted to grant me, for a further four years, the trust as Chancellor of the University which, in a special way, is the University of the Pope. Together with all the professors, the staff and students, we will listen to the generous teaching of Pope Francis, trying to make as our own, the expression given to the students of the schools of the Jesuits: "Care for the human formation aimed at magnanimity."
In each one of us, according one’s specific responsibility, the words of Pope Francis firmly resounds: "Education is not a profession but an attitude, a way of being; for to educate means we must go out of ourselves and stay in the midst of the young, to accompany them in their stages of growth, putting ourselves by their side. Give them hope and optimism in their journey on this world. Teach them to see the beauty and goodness of creation and of man, which contains always the imprint of the Creator. But above all, be witnesses by living what you communicate."
