Spain – Award for Salesian Youth Centres for Immigrants |
Spain – Several Solidarity initiatives for Christmas |
(ANS – Barcelona) – “Three minutes of emotion for Imad Benoua, a youngster from the Programme for Social Education (PES) in Martí-Codolar, and Raúl Lerones, Director of the Centre and the one responsible for the Salesians’ Magone- Social Action Foundation”. In this way the TV3 described the “Vínculos” programme which with the support of the Marató TV3 Foundation recounted the friendship between Imad and Raúl.
“Imad arrived in Barcelona from Algeria alone,. While he was living in a youth centre an accident left him with a serious disability. The support of Raúl, a tutor in the Salesians’ Magone Foundation was to be the key to his recovery. In Catalogna there are agencies that help young immigrants who arrive alone and vulnerable in our country”.
In the video Imad says he wants to continue to do what he has a real passion for: “All I want to do now is to draw because it is the only way in which I can express my feelings, my emotions... to bring out the anger and the joy I have inside”.
On the net it is possible to learn more about the Fondazione Magone and to see the video that tells the story of Imad and Raúl.
