(ANS - San Paolo)- The Brazilian Salesian publisher Edebé Brasil took part in the first BETT fair in Latin America. The fair took place from 30 October to 1 November at the World Trade Centre in São Paulo. BETT is the organization of British Education Training and Technology. Edebé Brasil was founded as a result of collaboration between RSE (the Network of Salesian Schools in Brazil) and the Spanish publisher, Edebé.
The BETT fairs, started in the UK thirty years ago, are the most important global meeting opportunity for organizations interested in technology education. They aim to facilitate the discovery of new technologies and increased knowledge to improve education for lifelong learning.
The first BETT fair in Latin America was attended by the most senior commercial enterprises in the sector and officials responsible for public and private educational institutes. They came in search of the latest technology and products and solutions developed in different parts of the world.
Edebé Brasil, with the support of Edebé Spagna, was the only Brazilian publisher to participate. Cintia Cristina Bagatin Lapa, Editorial Director of Edebé Brasil, said: "These were two days of comparing the use of technologies in education. The participation of Edebé meant the consolidation of its digital project aimed initially at the RSE from 2014 to 2016."
"This was our first time taking part,” Dr Bagatin Lapa continued. “Our stall was the platform for academic and pedagogical material, and also for the virtual school which will publish Digital Learning Materials (MDD). We made presentations in real time on all the features and possibilities of integration between the technologies that have been developed, especially for RSE. We've had some positive feedback from the participants who watched our project, which is effectively the only one of its kind in Brazil."
Among the activities carried out at the Edebé Brasil stall during the fair, mention must also be made of an interactive lesson on MDD and an informal meeting - with the offer of breakfast – on the meaning and implications of the collaboration between the RSE and Edebé Spagna. Both events drew a far bigger number of visitors than expected.
In May 2014 Edebé Brasil will participate in a new edition of the BETT fair devoted especially to Brazil.
