(ANS – Lahore) – As a sign of fraternity and collaboration, staff and students of the school in Lahore, Christians and Muslims alike have worked together to put up a new construction thus improving the facilities and courses on offer.
It is a steel structure at the Don Bosco Technical Centre – located on top of the Metal Fabrication Shop 1,400m² in area. Capable of accommodating 100 persons it will house various metalwork machines used in the early stages of training
What makes it so special is that it was planned and built by staff and students who were supervised by an expert German Engineer. The small Salesian community looking after this centre were delighted because it was the best proof that both the staff training and the investment in equipment in the last few years is paying off with students becoming very well qualified technicians who can live a decent and honest life.
On 24 August inside the new building the morning assembly or the Salesian “Good morning” was held for the first time.
At present the Salesians in Lahore have three activities.
