The programme is in two parts. In the first at Prague between 2 and 4 August, those taking part get get to know each other, visit the city and start discussing topics such as freedom, democracy, the danger of various forms of totalitarianism…
In the second part between 4 and 12 August the young people will transfer to Cucice, near Brno, to help in the repair work of the local parish house, used by the Salesians for youth activities during the summer, and for short weekend retreats throughout the year.
Obviously there will also be some spiritual activities: Fr Jaroslav Vracovsky, Provincial Delegate for the Missions and Voluntary Service will spend the whole time with the young people and will lead prayer moments in the morning and evening as well as saying daily Mass.
“We have already received a dozen applications from our own young people in the Czech Republic, in Russia and Germany, but we will be happy to welcome young people from other countries who want to get to know our country and to give us a hand,” Fr Vracovsky says.
