RMG – New Provincials for Central Italy and Hungary |
RMG – The work of the General Council concludes |
(ANS – Rome) – This morning the work began of the Intermediate Plenary Session of the General Council. The agenda is short, but one outstanding item is the subject of the next General Chapter to be held in 2014.
This session which ends on 4 April, is being attended by all the Councillors – some of whom returned yesterday – with the Rector Major.
With two working sessions each day the Rector Major with his Council will also appoint Superiors for 4 Provinces – Hungary, Central Italy, India Guwahati and the new Province of India Silchar. He will also deal with the issue of the new arrangements for Salesian houses in the Special Circumscription for East Europe (EST).
Certainly the most important and eagerly awaited item will be the decision regarding the theme for the 27th General Chapter which will see the whole Salesian Congregation engaged in the necessary preparations: Provincial Chapters, the appointment of Delegates, Commission, contributions.
