(ANS –Vatican City) – Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican Secretary of State has appointed as Director General of the Vatican Press – Publishers of the “Osservatore Romano” Fr Sergio Pellini.

Born in 1959, Fr Pellini made his novitiate at Pinerolo, and took his first vows as a Salesian of Don Bosco on 12 September 1976.

Vice Provincial of the Italy Circumscription of Piedmont Val d’Aosta  (ICP) between  2002 and 2010, in the last two years he has been Rector of the Colle Don Bosco community. Fr Pellini is now also the Rector of the “Saint Francis of Sales” Salesian community in the Vatican.
