From six schools and two other works, the 32 people taking part reflected on what it means to be a Cooperator and to belong to the Association in El Salvador. The main talk was given by the National Coordinator on “the authenticity of Salesian lay communities.”
Divided into 5 groups, the Councillors decided on the 4 priorities of the Association at National level: strengthening the organisation of the local centres, giving attention to Youth Ministry, building up a culture of the Salesian Family and deepening lay Salesian Spirituality.
For each of the priorities various things were suggested on which to work during the year, adapted to the local circumstances of each centre. At the end of the morning the Plan of National Animation was presented and the Calendar of activities for the coming year re-examined.
The meeting ended with Mass at which Fr Manuel Gómez, National Delegate for the Salesians-Cooperators presided and he spoke about how the service offered by the local and national Councillors needed to be always for the benefit of the Association.
