WAITING FOR THE COMMENTARY ON THE 2011 STRENNA "COME AND SEE " |
In recent years the Social Communication Department, with the assistance of other valuable collaborators, has produced a variety of material to accompany the Strenna and facilitate its reception and understanding. The various contributions in seven languages have also been reproduced in other languages thanks to the interest and efforts of some of the Provinces.
The first aid is a poster, which has now almost a ten year history. Produced by DOSA TIC in the “Mary Help of Christians” Spanish Province of Seville, it was officially presented at the end of November and distributed in paper form as an appendix to ANSphoto for November. The poster is also available on sdb.org.
The video, by now a regular feature, is produced by the Missioni Don Bosco Media Centre in Turin with the collaboration of other centres such as for example Audiovisuales Don Bosco in Quito. The DVD, distributed in the houses of the Salesians and of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians has a 24 minute video based on the commentary of which it gives a summary.
The video also has two clips, available also separately, which present the fable “The caravan in the desert” and the prayer by Madeleine Delbrêl “The dance of life,” both of which were made at the Academy of Performing Arts in Turin. “The dance of life” clip, as well as the words of the prayer which inspired it, is a real meditation. The images of the dance and of the teacher guiding the student are a help in understanding how important for the Christian it is to allow oneself to be guided by the Spirit. The change from black and white to colour is intended to show the effort needed in spiritual exercises and the joy of feeling oneself called, as the dancer’s movements reveal the mystery of birth and of life.
The DVD “Come and see” will be followed by the Salesian Family Days of Spirituality and other material for further reflection.
A novelty this year is the You Tube channel VeniteeVedrete2011 which contains the vocations histories of various members of the Salesian Family. Opened in recent days, the video channel now has about forty short films.
To these can also be added the plans and the aids produced by the various Provinces in the pastoral and formation areas.
