RMG – II General Assembly of Don Bosco Network |
Now in its fifth year the event represents the largest platform for the stakeholders in the development of Europe. 15,000 people took part from 5.309 organisations from civil society and 382 stakeholders to examine what had so far been achieved and to look to the future, contributing ideas, creating new partnerships, strengthening the networks.
Don Bosco Network (DBN) took part with a stand in which were presented the activities of the 8 NGO working in 92 countries in the world side by side with the Salesians, promoting poor and abandoned childrens’ and young peoples’ rights.
There were various conferences on the themes of development in which representatives of DBN took part with one entitled “Transparency: governments and petrol gas and mining companies” and one on the subject of the formation of teachers as being the key to ensuring access to education is not only a matter of quantity – schools for all – but also of quality.
After all that took place there are signs of optimism that society can work though initiatives, projects, partnerships, and invest its resources so that development for all does not remain a matter of good intentions but becomes a reality.
