Attending the Seminar in Quito between 10 and 14 November were 41 Delegates, Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), from Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Haiti, Mexico, Perù, Dominican Republic, United States and Venezuela.
Among those present at the beginning of the work in addition to Fr José Pastor Ramírez, Coordinator of the Salesian Family for the Salesians of Don Bosco, and Sr Maria Luisa Miranda, FMA Councillor for the Salesian Family, were also Fr Jorge Molina, Vice Provincial of the Province of Ecuador and Sr Vicenta Jaramillo, FMA Provincial of Ecuador.
The organisation of the work already tried and tested at the previous meetings in Częstochowa, Bangkok and San Paolo, engaged those present in reflection on the role of the Delegate as the pastoral guide for those lay people who want to live according to the charism inherited from Don Bosco.
Speakers included Sr Maria Trigila, FMA World Delegate for the Salesians-Cooperators (SSCC), Sr Maritza Ortiz, World Delegate for FMA Past Pupils, Fr Stjepan Bolkovac, SDB World Delegate for SSCC, and José Pastor Ramírez in his role of World Delegate for the Don Bosco Past Pupils.
Thanks to the initiative of Fr Molina and Sr Bozza, the Delegates were able to pass a pleasant religious-cultural day at the Sanctuary of “El Quinche” – Our Lady of the Presentation of Quinche, the “Otavalo” district and the city of Atuntaqui, in the North of Ecuador.
After 5 “typically Salesian” days the meeting ended on Sunday with Mass at which Fr Marcelo Farfán, Provincial of Ecuador presided.
