The groups taking part in the Festival need to belong to one or other of the Salesian centres and they come to the Festival having prepared themselves and their music, dance, drama or other contribution according to the theme proposed for the year, sometimes on youth topics or something connected with the Church or society at large. This year the theme is “Young people on the stage of life” and the motto “tell your story and talk about your life.”
The whole event is a great Salesian experience accompanied by prayer, the Mass and all manner of youthful artistic expression. The effort involved for many of the groups is also very significant. Some have to travel by coach for up to 12 hours to come to the Festival and make considerable financial sacrifices.
The Youth Ministry committee of the Province as well as the individual houses work very hard to make the efforts of the educators and the leaders appreciated and create a different impression for young peoples’ lives with a new culture of life through art in it various youthful forms and through the pedagogy of Don Bosco.
