(ANS – Granada) – Monday 16 August, on the day of the commemoration of the birth of Don Bosco, 4 new Salesians, having finished their novitiate at Granada, made their first profession: Ramon Ariza Gomez and Juan Manuel Perez Delgado from Spain-Madrid province; Javier Marco Molina from the province of Spain-Valencia and Sergi Moreno Parraga from Spain-Barcelona province.

Granada welcomed the event which is very important in the life of each Salesian. The church of the Salesian community at Zaidin was the venue for the hundreds of people, family members, relatives, friends and Salesians who is one way or another have come in contact with these young Salesians.

The celebration was marked by the theme “Walking with the Risen Jesus, as witnesses of his love”. With these words the newly professed Salesians wanted to show everyone present their desire to live like the disciples of Emmaus, walking in the path of the Salesian life together with Jesus, giving witness to Jesus’ love in their lives and offering it on behalf of youth.
The celebration was animated with the help of all: the choir setup the atmosphere of joy; the hundreds of people that turned up were completely involved in the ceremony, most especially through their prayers; a group of Salesians welcomed into the Society the new members of the Salesian Congregation.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided by the General Counsellor of Europe West, Fr. Jose Miguel Nunez Moreno together with other provincials. The counsellor showed his appreciation to the newly professed for the important step they made in their lives, by putting their lives at the total service of the Salesian Congregation. He also thanked the families of the newly professed, for having provided a fertile ground for their vocation, assuring them of the abundant blessings from God for having allowed their children follow their vocation putting themselves in God’s hand.
